Yimloch-A New Single by Avraham Yitzchak Bouzaglou

Yimloch is a song that will penetrate your heart and soul. The very original and attractive tune was composed by Avraham Yitzchak Bouzaglou when he was 14 years old, on Erev Yom Kippur, as he visualized the words Yimloch Hashem so clearly in his mind.
You will surely get moved by the soft musical blend as well as the touching voice of this very talented young man.
After singing at many community events, Avraham Yitzchak was strongly encouraged by many to record his music. He was reminded that he was granted a powerful gift… The gift of music that must be shared.
A year later, after teaming up with producer Cheskie Fisch from Montreal and recording professionally, this distinctively beautiful and inspiring song came to life.
We would like to present to you : A.Y. Bouzaglou’s first debut single: YIMLOCH.
Composed & Sung by: Avraham Yitzchak Bouzaglou

Brand New Song and Music Video by Eli Begun

Eli Begun is on the horizon. Eli has been in Mir yeshiva almost his whole life and has been influenced immensely by Torah and Rebbiem. He obviously has a lot of music in his genes especially from his father, Yerachmiel Begun. His solid Torah hashkafos and feelings are very evident in this song. This single and music video has been long anticipated by many and has now finally materialized! The song is a message to all jewish people about what our attitude should be amidst all of the pain and suffering that klal yisroel is going through and how “we must go on” and believe in hashem that he will pull us through. The song was arranged and mixed by his brother Chananya Begun and it was filmed and directed by Shia fried who both brought this whole production to a whole new level. ‘We Must Go On’ does not sound like the prototype in Jewish slow songs rather a whole new style and feel. Enjoy!

Lyrics:

Low part 1:

Life takes a toll
For some a struggle, a fall
Every day’s another battle to be won

The pain that we endure
Enters the depths of our core
And it seems like a trial that we can’t overcome

High part:

But we must go on
Finding out way through the darkness
Not alone hashem helps us carry on
And we must stay strong
Even when al hope has left us
After night comes the early days of dawn

Low part 2:

Unimaginable years
A nations river of tears
Yet we come together standing by his name

The dangers we all know
Coming from friend or foe
But it burns forever out eternal flame

Bridge:

גם כי אלך בגיא צלמות לא אירה רע כי אתה עימדי

Lyrics:
Sweet woman child needn’t cry anymore
Now we all know what you’ve long known before
Sad that it took all one’s lifetime to see
Peace wanted just to be free

Strong man shall open your armor of fear
Your dreams of love
Is what brought this day here
Evil is lost and hate has deceased
Joy is of what we feast
For life can now live in world peace

Dormi piccino la guerra e finita
L’acqua ed il vento saranno con te
E poi cresci piccino nell’ mondo unita
Dormi che noi siamo qui
Dormi noi siamo con te

Ritorneranno le danze e i colori
Contiueranno per sempre con te
Ritroveremo profumi e i sapori
Piccolo amore
Per ogni stella che cade nel cielo
Un nuovo amore fiorisce laggiu
Bimbi che corrono e giocano i pace
E che non piangono piu
E che non piangono piu

Sweet woman child needn’t cry anymore
Now we all know what you’ve long known before
Sad that it took all world’s lifetime to see
Peace wanted just to be free,
Peace wanted just to be free

Soldiers have put down their weapons of war
Never to touch them again
All through the land you can hear people say
World fighting has come to an end

Dormi piccino dell’ mondo nuova
Armi e i soldati non urlano piu
Sogna la notte di luci stellate
Dormi noi siamo con te
Dormi che noi siamo qui
Dormi noi siamo con te

How better to describe the goings on (or lack thereof) in my home over these past few cold and snowy weekends than with Dr. Seuss’s opening words of The Cat in the Hat?

“The sun did not shine, it was too wet to play.  So we sat in the house all that cold, cold, wet day.

I sat there with Sally, we sat there, we two, and I said, “How I wish we had something to do…”

Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat

While my kids had been asking for snow for months, by the time Winter Storm Jonas was over, they were restless and just needed to let out some energy.  Thanks to Chava Goldman, our winter blues were quickly transformed – all smiles in this household as we set off on this engaging exercise journey.

Set to the theme of an Ocean Adventure, imaginations run wild.  The listeners are assigned the role of a sailor crew, while Captain Chava Goldman gives the orders.  With waves crashing in the background and catchy beats and tunes, kids can easily step into character and get ready for action.

Track One – Chava Goldman sets the stage, with oceanic sound effects in the background to really get listeners into the mode.  The adventure starts off on deck of the ship, which serves as the platform for the exercises to follow.

Track Two – The sailors are running from one end of the deck to the other, with a variety of marching, kicking, tiptoeing and other aerobic paces.  Listen out for the Admiral – when he blows his whistle, the Sailors must stop what they’re doing and run in place.  This added some hype and excitement to the exercise routine, and kept the energy level at super-charged.

Track Three – Sailors love to jump around, and these would-be Sailors are no different.  Standing on deck, jumping from forward to center to back and then to center; from right to center to left and then to center; and then a combination of the two, jumping forwards and backwards, and right to left.  The music kept picking up speed, with a funky beat keeping the energy on high.

Track Four – For this exercise, the listeners take on a new role, acting like stormy waves.  Arms up and down, crouching low and standing up tall, running in place with “pitty patty feet.”  The variety of movements from track to track keeps the exercises interesting and engaging.  Feeling a big seasick from all the ups and downs?  The pace slows down a bit as the waves wash over the deck of the ship and knock the listeners down.  Some aerobics against the wall help the “Waves” recuperate before the stormy waves hit and the pace picks up again.  This segment is a bit long, but Chava Goldman encourages the listeners to chant along with her in an effort to keep the momentum going.

Track Five – The stormy waves have swept the Sailors ashore, and the scene is set in a jungle.  Mimicking hairy gorillas, jumping frogs, crawling spiders, leaping kangaroos and flying seagulls, the listeners are in a constant state of motion.  The music and sound effects help with the visualization, and it becomes really easy to get into character when imitating each of the different jungle animals.  All aboard – the Captain is waiting for her crew on deck!

Track Six – In her own version of Simple Simon Says, the listeners follow the orders of Captain Chava Goldman.  Listen closely – if the order is given without being prefaced by “Captain Chava Goldman Says,” don’t follow that instruction!  Hop up and down, stamp your feet – this track continues the aerobics, albeit at a bit of a slower pace.  If you follow an order that you weren’t supposed to, the buzzer sounds, but no one’s out.  Keep moving, and just be sure to listen closely to each directive.  “Captain Chava Goldman is so proud of you!”

Track Seven – All good sailors get hungry, and beans are on the menu for lunch today.  There are four different types of beans, and each bean is represented by a different action.  When the Captain calls out “Runner Beans,” the Sailors run around all over the place as quickly as they can.  “String Beans” – balance on one leg with the other leg in air in front of you, holding your hands together over your head.  When the Captain calls out “Canned Beans,” listeners do jumping jacks, and for “Baked Beans,” the Sailors lie down on the floor with arms and legs spread wide apart, as though they’re baking in the sun.  The first few times, the Captain reminds the Sailors which action is represented by each bean.  After a while, though, the Sailors are on their own, putting their memory skills to the test.

Track Eight – After working night and day on the ship, it’s time to welcome Shabbos in.  The Sailors lie down and relax, with Shalom Aleichem playing softly in the background.  Captain Chava Goldman guides the Sailors through all sorts of stretches, encouraging relaxation and deep breathing after such an energetic and engaging workout.

This CD is noted as being geared towards five to ten year olds.  The recommended ages are spot-on, but my younger children were pretty much engaged throughout the length of this Ocean Adventure.  The step-by-step instructions are so clear, and each directive can easily be followed, no matter how quick the pace of the exercise.  Aside from listening at home, this CD would also work great in a classroom or any group setting.  You can hear the passion in Chava Goldman’s voice as she guides the listeners through each track.  Her encouragement throughout helps keep the kids involved and attentive.  For me personally, I could have listened to her magnificent English accent for many more tracks…

The theme was carried out beautifully throughout all eight tracks, and was very relatable to the younger kids.  As they traveled from sea to shore, through stormy waves and into calmer waters, their imaginations ran wild.  This CD was fun, engaging and stimulating, and I love that it brought out so many important life skills for young children. From balancing to counting, from listening to following a sequence of instructions, Chava Goldman’s Ocean Adventure is a piece of quality kosher entertainment.  My kids were smiling the entire time, and there was a lot of laughing going on – unless it’s me they were laughing at as I tried to keep up with the exercises alongside them?

Inspiring Voice reviews Ari Goldwag’s Sheves Chaveirim #2

sheves chaverim 2

Ari Goldwag  is an American-born  singer, songwriter, composer, and producer . He achieved fame as a soloist for the Miami Boys Choir at age 10 and starred on five albums and three videos before his voice changed at age 14. He launched a successful music career after his marriage and move to Israel. He has released seven solo albums, and composes songs and produces albums for other artists.

In addition, he has released a unique “Sheves” series. Two are called “Sheves Achim” sung by 2 brothers Shimon and Moshe Bell – one when they were children and one when they were teenagers. He also released a new concept called “Sheves Chaveirim” sung by a choir of 5-6 boys so it’s not a group like Shalsheles Junior, but not a big choir like Miami.

About 2 months ago he released the second volume of Sheves Chaveirim featuring an almost brand new cast. The only repeat performer is his son Moshe Dov. However, he is only repeat in person as his voice has really matured and he has developed into a fantastic star soloist. The other boys are Yedidya and Eliyahu Schneider and Avi and Yehoshua Rubin.

1. Shir Ushvacha – This song was composed by Rafi Gantshar. As part of his work in music, Ari gets to be involved in helping composers bring their songs to life so they can be heard by different people in the Jewish music business. So they come to him to make what’s called a ‘demo.’ Rafi Gantshar came to him with this song, and they did the demo, which got a lot of positive feedback and interest. In the end, Rafi agreed to have the song included in this album. The song is about praising Hashem, and the words are from the end of Yishtabach in Nusach Sefard.

It is an upbeat song with some beautiful high solos. Ari and Moshe Dov do gorgeous backup vocals as he does throughout the album and Ari finishes off with his own solo.

2. Am Am Am – The words are actually Yismechu Bimalchuscha from Shabbos davening. Ari composed it originally for his Am Echad album, but it would have been a little odd to have 2 hit songs called “Am” Therefore, we are privileged to have it on Sheves Chaveirim. The song is out of this world and it featured gorgeous solos by Moshe Dov and also a bridge after it is sung the second time. It is actually faster than Shir Ushvacha so when you are expecting a slow song after a fast song, instead you get a faster song so perhaps the shock value adds to the appreciation of the song.

3. Lo Lefached –  The words are from a  teaching of R’ Nachman of Breslov ZT”L , that although the world’s a narrow bridge – a challenge to pass
over – nevertheless the main thing is not to fear. How can we ‘simply not fear?’ One of his main teachings is the idea of Emunah – trusting that although it is dark, the light is still there, and will return. Although things seem challenging and difficult, we can have faith knowing that one day we will know how Hashem’s hand held us all through the dark times. It is the first slow song of the album and it includes a bridge with English lyrics sung by Ari. Although it is a slow song, the guitars provide an upbeat rhythm to the song to inspire us to have emuna and overcome any challenge we might face.

4. Eliyahu – This song was composed by Moshe Dov Goldwag. This is a very catchy tune at about “hora” speed. Moshe Dov also put together the words for the low part. It’s very creative on his part because it changes the Eliyahu Hanavi song from zmiros into a tefilla to ask Hashem to send us Eliyahu hanavi and redeem us from this galus.

5. Tehilos – The low part’s lyrics are from what we say right before the Shmoneh Esrai at Shachris. The high part is ‘baruch hu u’varuch sh’mo’ – the line we say whenever we hear Hashem’s name in a bracha. It’s so easy to say these words many times a day without ever even noticing them, just like it’s easy to take the blessings in our lives for granted. Singing them in a song, repeating them with awareness, is a great chance to notice the words, and to notice our blessings. Ari composed it in 2009 after the birth of his daughter and felt very grateful to Hashem so he put together these 2 different phrases and combined them to form a gorgeous slow song .

6. Me’ien – This is a real fun song that is really catchy. Ari composed it together with his sister by the Shabbos table. The high and low parts can be sung together, so they could be harmonies to each other. Not only that, but the intro melody can also be sung together with the other parts so you can have 3 groups singing each part at the same time. The second time the song is sung, Moshe Dov has a great solo in the low part that ends off really high.  This great song even inspired me to compose a song together with my daughter at the Shabbos table.

7. Borchu – Composed by Moshe Dov & Ari Goldwag This catchy tune first appeared in Ari’s Acapella Soul #2 that was released in 2014. This is more geshmak because it has music.

8. Rochel Mevaka –  This song evokes strong emotion and longing as it talks about Rochel Imeinu crying to Hashem to have mercy on the Bnei Yisroel in galus. It was past her grave that we walked as we marched out of Israel in chains, and her tears are what evoke a consolation from Hashem that her children will return.Even as we see that return happening in front of our eyes, the exile seems to drag on endlessly. We need to recall her tears, and allow ourselves to cry, as well, as we face off with the challenges of galus today. It is really inspiring and tear jerking in a real positive way. You gotta hear it over and over to appreciate it .

9. Gam Zu – What a way to lift yourself out of melancholy after the previous song! Gam zu is a real leibedike dance song. It includes one of the alumni from the first Sheves Chaverim album – Yair Frohlich, as well as Elisha Willig, who was part of the group in the interim period and was a soloist on the Am Echad album in the hit song “Min Ha’olam” which featured Sheves Chaverim.

To quote Ari from the song booklet – ” A central theme in Yiddishkeit is that every single thing that we see in the world is a manifestation of Hashem. The startling implication of this idea is that even the things that seem to be negative – they are also from Hashem. Since Hashem is kulo tov – All Good – then somehow even the challenges and sadness will ultimately be seen as bringing us to good. It’s so important to keep reminding ourselves that ‘everything that the Merciful One does is for the good’ – ‘this is also good!’ And what better way to do that then with a lively, catchy niggun?”

10. Hoshia Na – The only voices we hear in this song are Ari and Moshe Dov. Ari composed it in 2001 while he was learning in Mirrer Yeshiva and it was at a challenging time for the Jewish people. It is a unique style of slow song and it’s composed with words of begging Hashem for mercy and success. Since it was sung by the father and son duo, Ari added a bridge using the words “Kerachem av al banim” – as a father has compassion on his children, so may Hashem have compassion on us.

11. Nirkod Lanetsach – A translation from the original “Forever Dance” that appeared in Ari’s English Album that was released a little over a year ago. It has become very popular, and Ari wanted to give it new life, while at the same time introducing it to the Israeli public. To be true to the original composition in a different language that does not have the same expressions and ways of speaking is no easy task.  The song concept comes out of the teaching of Chazal that in the future there will be a dance of the righteous in Gan Eden. We will all be part of the dance, as our chazal say ‘v’amech kulam tzadikim’ – all of us will ultimately reach a level of true righteousness. So if we’ll be dancing forever in Gan Eden, it’s a good idea to start practicing now! On a deeper level, what that really means is that we can already access the level of righteousness we will be on then – even now.

To sum up I want to emphasize that Ari Goldwag is special and unique in that he is much more than just a singer. He puts real feeling and pnimiyus into his singing and songs that it inspires one to shape up in ruchniyos and to be optimistic and upbeat.
